What scenarios are industrial optical modules used in?
According to the working temperature range, optical modules can be divided into commercial (0℃ - 70℃), expansion (- 20℃ - 85℃), industrial (- 40℃ - 85℃). Generally, only commercial optical module is needed for indoor optical module, but industrial optical module is needed if the optical module is used in outdoor environment with uncertain and fluctuating temperature (such as remote mountain area, tunnel, etc.). 1. The chip and laser used in the industrial optical module can work normally at - 40℃ - 85℃.
2. Industrial-grade optical modules use heat-dissipating silica gel to physically cool down, so that the laser can quickly dissipate heat.
3. In order to ensure that the industrial optical module can work normally in the low temperature environment, it needs to have the function of temperature compensation. The work of temperature compensation is more complex, which requires a lot of time for technicians to calculate and write, so as to make the temperature fluctuation of the optical module tend to be stable.
4. High and low temperature aging test is necessary for industrial optical modules.
5. Industrial-grade optical modules must be designed with scene hardening components in terms of electrical components and housings to ensure the service life of the module.
According to the different packaging types, industrial optical modules can be divided into industrial optical module (SFP), industrial SFP+ optical module, industrial XFP optical module, industrial CWDM optical module, industrial DWDM optical module, industrial SFP28 optical module and industrial QSFP28 optical module.
