What QSFP+ optical modules are used to deploy the 40G data center?
In recent years, in order to cope with the rapid development of ultra-high-definition video, cloud storage, cloud computing and other businesses, the world's major IT giants and telecom operators are actively building large 40G or even 100G data centers. Under this trend, the traditional 10G Ethernet obviously cannot adapt to the high bandwidth requirements of data centers. The central wavelength is 850nm, MPO/MTP interface, multi-mode fiber type, 4-channel 850nm VCSEL array and PIN photodetector array, the operating temperature is 0°C ~ 70°C, the longest transmission distance can be up to 100/150 meters through the combination of multi-mode jumper OM3/OM4, often used for the interconnection of short-distance devices in data centers.
The 40G QSFP+ SR4 optical module can not only be used for transmission on a 40G network, but can also be connected to the 10G SFP+ optical module using the MPO-LC jumper.
2. 40G QSFP+ PSM4 optical module(EQ314X-3MCD2)
The central wavelength is 1310nm, MPO 12-core interface, single-mode fiber type, equipped with 4-channel FP laser array and PIN photodetector array, operating temperature is 0°C to 70°C, with single-mode jumper OS2, the maximum transmission distance can be up to 2 km.
3. 40G QSFP+ LX4 optical module (EQxx4X-3LCD2)
Its working wavelength is 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm, 1331nm, if the use of multi-mode OM4 fiber jumper transmission, up to 150 meters; If single-mode optical fiber jumper OS2 is used for transmission, the transmission can be up to 2 km.
4. 40G QSFP+ LR4 optical module (EQxx4X-3LCD10)
The central wavelength is 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm, 1331nm, duplex LC interface, single-mode optical fiber type, working temperature is 0°C ~ 70°C, with single-mode jumper OS2, the longest transmission distance can be up to 10km.
5. 40G QSFP+ ER4 optical module (EQXX4X-3LCD40)
The central wavelength is 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm, 1331nm, duplex LC interface, single-mode optical fiber type, working temperature is 0°C ~ 70°C, with single-mode jumper OS2, the longest transmission distance can be up to 40km.
Based on the cost and product maturity, 40G Ethernet technology has been widely used in data centers, and the corresponding 40G QSFP+ optical module has achieved good results in the booming data centers, and still has a great prospect in the future.
