The introduction of 100G multi-mode BiDi single-fiber bidirectional optical module
In 1.25G and 10G optical modules, BiDi single-fiber and dual-fiber optical modules are transmitted by single-mode jumpers. Today, ETU-LINK will introduce a 100G BiDi single-fiber bidirectional optical module transmitted by multi-mode optical fibers.
It adopts double LC fiber interface, uses multi-mode fiber for transmission up to 150 meters, working wavelength is 850nm, 950nm, modulation technology is PSM4 (2*50G).

Compared with the 100G SR4 optical module, the 100G BiDi multi-mode optical module can effectively save the multi-mode wiring cost of the data center. The 100G SR4 optical module needs eight multi-mode optical fibers for transmission, while the 100G BiDi optical module only needs two multi-mode optical fibers for transmission at the rate of 100G. In the multi-mode wiring scheme of 100G data center, in addition to the 100G BiDi optical module, which can save optical fiber, there is also 100G SWDM4 optical module, which uses multi-mode wavelength division multiplexing technology to multiplexed four 25G wavelengths into one optical fiber for transmission, thus achieving the purpose of saving optical fiber.
