Introduction and application of dual-rate 100G QSFP28 LR4 optical module
People's desire for high-speed optical networks has promoted the vigorous development of the entire optical communications industry, including independent R&D and innovation breakthroughs in many technologies such as optoelectronic device technology. At this stage, most data centers have deployed 100G networks. You must have seen a lot of single-rate 100G QSFP28 optical modules, such as SR4, LR4, PSM4, CWDM4, ER4, etc. However, in this article, ETU-LINK will introduce you to the dual-rate 100G QSFP28 LR4 optical module.
It is equipped with 4 x 25Gb/s LAN WDM DFB TOSA laser transmitter and 4 x 25Gb/s PIN ROSA receiver, adopts NRZ modulation method, single channel rate is about 25.8Gb/s and 28Gb/s, can support 100G and 112G transmission rate. The dual-rate 100G QSFP28 LR4 optical module is a single-mode optical module with dual LC interfaces. The wavelengths are 1295.56,1300.05, 1304.58, and 1309.14 nm. The single-mode optical fiber OS2 can be used for transmission up to 10 kilometers.
It converts 4 channels of 25G electrical signal inputs into 4 channels of LAN-WDM optical signals, and multiplexes them into a single channel for 100G optical signal transmission. At the receiving end, it demultiplexes 100G optical inputs into 4 channels LAN-WDM optical signal, and then convert it into 4 electrical signal output.
In addition, it also supports the FEC function. This error correction technology can solve the problem of misjudgment at the receiving end due to partial signal disturbance during the transmission of the optical signal at the transmitting end, thereby improving the quality of signal transmission.
The dual-rate 100G QSFP28 LR4 optical module complies with 100G Ethernet, OTN OTU4 4I1-9D1F protocol, and can be applied to 100G data centers and 5g backhaul Network.
