Introduction and application of 100G QSFP28 CWDM4 optical module
Nowadays, with the increasing demand of network throughput and bandwidth, the demand of 100G high-speed optical module is also growing. IEEE has developed two optical module standards for 100G network: 100G SR4 QSFP28 and 100G LR4 QSFP28. But in practical application, because the transmission distance of the above optical modules can not fully cover the transmission distance requirements of the data center, the two standards can not deploy the data center in the most cost-effective way. Therefore, CWDM4 MSA has formulated the standard of 100G CWDM4 QSFP28 with transmission distance of 2KM.
100G CWDM4 QSFP28 is a standard published by CWDM4 MSA in 2014. It is a 100G transmission mode based on single-mode coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) technology. The 100G CWDM4 QSFP28 optical module in line with this standard adopts duplex LC interface and uses four central wavelengths of 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm and 1331nm for optical signal transmission.
Next, ETU-LINK will introduce the 100G QSFP28 CWDM4 optical module.
Brief introduction of 100G QSFP+ CWDM4 optical module
The 100G QSFP28 CWDM4 optical module is packaged with QSFP28, which integrates four channels of 25Gbps uncooled CWDM DFB lasers (1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm, 1331nm), four channels of photodetectors, CDRs and miniaturized AWG chips. The typical power consumption is less than 2.6W, the optical eye pattern margin is better than 20%, and the sensitivity (pre-FEC 1E-5BER OMA) is better at commercial temperature (0 ~ 70 ℃) < - 10.5dbm, the BER of the product ensures that BER is better than 1x10-12 in post FEC application.
100G QSFP28 CWDM4 adopts duplex LC optical interface, which meets the requirements of 2KM transmission protocol. The maximum transmission distance can reach 2KM by matching with single-mode patch cord OS2.
Working principle
100G QSFP28 CWDM4 adopts 4 25G NRZ wavelength division multiplexing technology (CWDM4), multiplexes 4 wavelengths of 1271, 1291, 1311, 1331 nm into 1 single-mode fiber for transmission, and then converts the optical signal at the receiving end It is the electrical signal of 4 output channels. In order to ensure the stability of the optical fiber transmission system, 100G CWDM4 QSFP28 optical modules must be used for optical fiber links with forward error correction (FEC).
Compatibility of ETU-LINK 100G QSFP28 CWDM4 optical module
The 100G QSFP28 CWDM4 optical module of E-Sky Communication is compatible with various brand services and switches in the market. The optical module products provided by the company have undergone strict quality control and compatibility testing before leaving the factory to ensure that users receive cost-effective optical modules.
Application scenario
The 100G QSFP28 CWDM4 adopts 4-way 25g NRZ wavelength division multiplexing technology (CWDM4), which can be widely used in 100G CWDM4 Ethernet and Infiniband 4x EDR links.
In the application of 100G CWDM4 optical module in data center, compared with 100G PSM4 optical module, 100G CWDM4 optical module has more price advantages in medium and long distance transmission; compared with 100G CLR4 optical module, 100G CWDM4 optical module has more extensive application fields, so the demand will be larger; compared with 100G CLR4 optical module, the price advantage is outstanding. With the continuous growth of data traffic, the trend of large-scale and flat data center promotes the upgrading of optical modules to the transmission rate demand and the growth of quantity demand. Due to the large amount of optical modules used in the data center, low cost and transmission distance are undoubtedly the focus of consideration, so cwdm4 has become the mainstream of 100G overseas cloud computing data center.
