How to configure servers to access Huawei CE5800 switch?
In this article, ETU-LINK will introduce how to connect servers to Huawei CE5800 switches and related networking methods. First of all, before connecting the server to the switch, the server network card needs to be installed on the server. At present, the interface type of the network card of the server is CPIE. Generally, the transmission rate supported by the network card of the server is 1G/10G/25G/40G/100G, and the network card of the server has active standby mode and load sharing mode.
Huawei CE5800 switch is a Gigabit access switch. The downlink port supports 1G and 10G transmission rate, and the uplink port supports 40G transmission rate. The optical port types of the whole machine include SFP, SFP+, QSFP. Therefore, the server needs to be equipped with 1G/10G network card to connect with CE5800 switch with optical module, fiber patch cord or cable.
There are three networking modes of switches: stacking, M-LAG and stand-alone. However, in order to make the network more reliable, M-LAG networking mode is taken as an example. Assuming that there are two CE5800 switches A, B and one server, the following is how to configure the switch and server interconnection.
1. Network card configuration instruction in active standby mode(M-LAG)

2. Network card configuration instruction in load sharing mode(M-LAG)
Configure SwitchA/B, add switch interface 10GE1/0/1to eth-trunk.

After understanding the switch configuration, we will introduce the optical interconnection scheme between CE5800 switch and server.
