The 100G QSFP28 LR4 optical module uses LAN WDM technology to convert four 25G electrical signals into four optical signals at the transmitter side and then multiplex them in a single channel for transmission. At the receiver side, the multiplexed 100G optical input signals are then demultiplexed into four LAN WDM optical signals and then converted into four electrical output signals.
The 100G LR4 optical module works at 1295, 1300, 1304, 1309nm, with duplex LC interface, which is very suitable for long distance connection in data center and enterprise network, such as 100G direct connection and interconnection. 100G direct connection solution is very simple, only need to insert two QSFP28 LR4 optical modules into the corresponding 100G switch port, and then connect the two modules with an LC fiber patch cable.
